I usually prefer cooking but currently we have rhubarb season. I like this time in the year, it saids that spring has begun. š· Rhubarb stimulates all taste buds with it’s sweet and tarte taste.
Now it’s time for my famous rhubarb cake. I love this pie.
Preparation:
For the dough:
- 1,5 kg rhubarb
- 200 g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 250 g butter
- 4 eggs
- 300 g flour
- 1/2 bag baking powder
- 8 tbsp milk or buttermilk
For the lid:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 50 g sugar

Preparation:
For the dough:
- First you have to peel, cut and wash the rhubarb. Who likes put the rhubarb in sugar water. I let it out because I like the sour taste.
- Butter, sugar and salt mix, graduelly add eggs. It is important that all things are good mixed.
- After this add the flour with the baking powder together to the mixture.
- If all things together put the mass on the sheet and spread the rhubarb pieces over it.
- Put the sheet for 30 minutes / 175 ° in the oven.
For the lid:
- In the meantime mix the sour cream, eggs and sugar together so that a creamy mass is created.
- After 30 minutes baking time spread the sour cream mass over it and put it once again for 20 minutes in the oven.


At the latest at this point, the water in my mouth runs together. The smell of the cake awakens my first anticipation.
While the cake is a second time in the oven you can hit whipped cream. You can serve these with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the still warm cake. I love it. š
